Artist Biography

House of EMET is a progressive alternative metal project exploring the intersection of ancient scripture, human history, and modern sound.

The name comes from the Hebrew word אמת (Emet) — meaning truth. At the centre of the project is a simple idea: some of the oldest texts ever written still contain questions humanity has never fully answered.

Rather than approaching biblical literature as religious slogans, House of EMET treats these texts as historical, poetic, and philosophical material. The project draws inspiration from a range of ancient sources, including:

  • the Hebrew Bible
  • Second Temple literature
  • the Book of Enoch
  • ancient Near Eastern cosmology
  • early Jewish and Christian traditions

Within these traditions lie stories of celestial rebellion, prophetic visions, and the uneasy relationship between heaven and earth. House of EMET approaches these narratives not as doctrine, but as cultural memory — fragments of humanity’s attempt to understand its place in the universe.

The result is music that feels less like preaching and more like archaeology through sound.

Origins

House of EMET emerged as a studio-based metal project built around a simple creative premise: retelling ancient narratives through modern heavy music.

The creators behind the project had long been fascinated by the more mysterious corners of biblical and Second Temple literature — passages that sit outside mainstream interpretation yet appear repeatedly across early Jewish and Christian writings.

Among the questions that helped shape the project were:

  • Who were the Watchers described in ancient texts?
  • What did the ancients believe existed before the Flood?
  • Why does the figure of Enoch appear across multiple traditions separated by centuries?
  • What does the word truth mean in a world built on competing narratives?

Rather than attempting to answer these questions directly, House of EMET revisits them through music. The project treats ancient texts as narrative material — allowing atmosphere, rhythm, and imagery to explore ideas that have echoed through human culture for thousands of years.

Musically, the project draws influence from bands such as:

  • Tool
  • A Perfect Circle
  • Disturbed
  • Sevendust

These influences can be heard in hypnotic rhythmic structures, groove-driven riffs, and emotionally intense vocal delivery. Songs often move between quiet, contemplative passages and explosive climactic sections, creating a dynamic tension between restraint and power.

Musical Identity

The sound of House of EMET sits at the intersection of several genres:

  • progressive metal
  • alternative metal
  • cinematic atmospheric rock

Across their recordings, several musical elements define the project’s sonic identity:

  • polyrhythmic, bass-driven grooves
  • tribal tom-driven percussion
  • dynamic loud–quiet–loud song structures
  • atmospheric guitar textures and ambient layers
  • restrained but emotionally powerful vocal performances
  • occasional Hebrew phrases or cantorial echoes

Rather than aiming for overly polished production, the project intentionally retains a raw, organic feel. The goal is to capture the energy of a live band while allowing space for the atmospheric and cinematic qualities of the music.

Themes

Each release from House of EMET explores narratives that shaped early human belief and civilisation.

Recurring themes within the music include:

  • rebellion in heaven
  • the Watchers and the Nephilim
  • the moral collapse preceding the Flood
  • ancient prophetic visions
  • betrayal and redemption
  • the tension between truth and deception

Instead of relying on modern religious language, the project draws heavily on imagery and symbolism rooted in ancient texts. These stories are treated not simply as theology, but as cultural and philosophical reflections on human nature, power, and morality.

The Concept

At its core, House of EMET explores the idea that myth, history, and theology often overlap in ways modern culture struggles to interpret.

By combining progressive metal with ancient narrative material, the project creates a space where those stories can be experienced again — not as distant relics, but as living questions.

In that sense, House of EMET is less concerned with providing answers than with revisiting humanity’s oldest search:

the search for truth.
